some pictures from a walk in greenpoint/brooklyn on a sunny and very cold day in december.

right now I'm on my way to sofa + blanket,
to read a book and wait for the snow they promised on the radio this morning.
and for poor T, who is still at work on a friday night at 11.

  5. I'm wondering what book you are reading? Is it one to recommend? I'm about to finish 'a prayer for owen meany' (v. good). Lovely photos.

  6. thank you for the kind words, everyone!
to my great disappointment we had a light dusting of snow on sat morning, but nothing since! I think the 6 in of snow we were supposed to get went to DC instead.

the colors here in new york always amaze me, although the light is wintery it also feels very mediterranean, quite different from northern europe.

michelle: right now I'm reading 'my name is red' by orhan pamuk, and I love it.
a prayer for owen meany is actually on my list of things to read next, I like john irving's books a lot!
the last one i read was 'until I find you', also very very nice.

  7. The texture in the first four photos is amazing, and the other two are great too! We have a Greenpoint here too - in Cape Town - and of course it looks quite different to yours :)
