dorset (2)

we followed the coastal path and met lots of cows and sheep.
exciting! at least if you get out of the city as seldom as we do.

dorset (1)

about four weeks ago
T. and I stayed in a lovely little hotel in Bridport, Dorset for two nights.
I loved the bathroom's grey marbled linoleum floor.

back in time: nyc (4)

memories of rainy days in manhattan and brooklyn!

back in time: nyc (3)

Roxy Paine's installation Maelstrom on the Met's roof terrace with drinks on a friday night,
view over an incredibly green central park,
back at street level: the blue hour in full swing.

back in time: nyc (2)

the Whitney is one of my favourite buildings (and museums) ever.
it was designed by Marcel Breuer and finished in 1966.

back in time: nyc (1)

these are from my visit ny NYC at the beginning of May.
taken in central park and at the Met.
this was actually a day without rain.

going digital

after having thought about it for a long long long time
I finally made a decision this week
on a digital SLR:

Nikon D90 + 50mm 1.4 lens.
They are fantastic in low light.

These are the first test shots.

back in time: porto (6)

the Fundação Serralves (also by Álvaro Siza)is a beautiful museum
surrounded by a beautiful park
including a herb garden and a little farm.

back in time: porto (5)

a trip to the Boa Nova Tea House (in Leça da Palmeira just outside Porto),
one of Álvaro Siza's first built projects.
I love the way it is one with the landscape.

the bottom image shows a swimming pool between the rocks, also by Siza, but from 1996.
it was empty, but you could tell it must be amazing with water,
just rocks and concrete and water.

hope you're having a good start into the week.
mine started with a flat tire about 2/3 along my way to work.
